Who We Are
Polestar Calendars is owned and operated by Ruth Porter and Julian Ross. Madeleine Perriere is our shipper extraordinaire, and our two sons plus various friends help out in our busiest times.
We also have a fantastic team of sales reps across Canada, Kate Walker & Co., who sell our calendars into your local stores.

How We Got Started
We started in the calendar business in the early 1980s when Julian was at university and needed some help organizing his time. Not happy with the standard black vinyl business-oriented agendas that were available, he created a more student-friendly format and the Original Student Calendar was born.
A few years later, as our young family was growing, we published the Polestar Family Calendar. The 2007 calendar will be our 20th anniversary edition.
Our most recent publications are the Polestar Business Calendar, which offers a creative approach to our working lives, and the new compact Polestar Planner. In creating our calendars, we try to provide a friendly and customizable format that acknowledges our full and complex lives, without blocking out each minute of every day.
Future Plans
We have lots of ideas! We’d love to publish our calendars, especially the Family and Student calendars, in French. We’re also considering a new engagement calendar which would allow for more room to track personal goals and plans – including, for example, exercise, spiritual goals, etc.
And some day, we hope to take all the wonderful suggestions we’ve received from our customers and create a deluxe Family and Business calendar.
